Sam and Cody’s wedding day in Downtown Worthington felt like stepping right into a storybook—one woven with family history, heartfelt moments, and style that was completely, unmistakably them. While their Worthington wedding included a beautiful ceremony and a reception at the J. Liu Restaurant Ballroom, the real magic came from the personal touches layered into every part of the day.
Sam began her morning in her childhood home, surrounded by the two people who’ve known her the longest—her parents. As an only child, she shares such a sweet, natural closeness with them. Watching her slip into her gown in the same home she grew up in felt incredibly meaningful. Her dad’s reaction during their first look was one of those moments you never forget—he spun her around with this look that said he still saw his little girl. It was pure joy.
If you know Sam, you know she has an eye for style. She once owned a wedding dress shop, so the pressure was on—the gown had to be perfect. She dreamed of sourcing a vintage dress, but the moment she found her high-neck lace gown with the embroidered quote on the sleeve (a phrase she and Cody share), everything aligned. During their month-out call, I asked Cody what he imagined Sam would wear… and he described the dress exactly. If that doesn’t tell you how in sync they are, I don’t know what does.
